Message From The Chair – April 2025

Hello Everyone

Sorry to leave you waiting for so long this year. Our organizing team has had a challenging year and is unfortunately working with less organizers than usual. We apologize for the delays from this but assure you this does not mean our event has taken any hits in quality.

We have finally secured a venue, once again at All Saints High School. This years event will be running on May 25th 2025 starting around 9am (final schedule coming out shortly). We will be running all of the favourite LEGO events Sumo, Drag Race and Formula S as usual, as well as putting a call for interest for the MicroE (formerly Arduino) Gridrunner competition.

Registration has officially opened and will open until May 18th 2025. We will be releasing our updated rules for each competition in the coming days as well as our modifications to the judging process. We hope all teams will like our new process aimed to make things run smoother!

We will be hosting open work periods May 3rd and May 10th (details including location coming in the next few days) for any teams who want to test their robots or may have questions about our event.

If you would like to stay in the loop for this years event, please keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook page over the coming weeks or check out our linktree (link in bio) . We are currently in the process of changing websites so our social media will be the best place to stay up-to date!

Lastly, these events do not run without the hard work of dedicated volunteers. If you would like to help out as an event day volunteer, or could see yourself helping organize the next ORC event please fill out our volunteer form in the linktree (https://linktr.ee/ottawaroboticscompetition) and/or reach out to robert.conrad@ieee.org
